The greenbay packers are official done with the season to me. Althought im a huge fan of them lets face it it would be better served if they allowed Aaron Rodgers to take over for the pack and see if he is the real deal to replace brett favre. I say they should try to keep the wins close but try not to go for broke because getting the first or second draft pick this year would be huge. they could go with Matt Leinhart if Aaron doesn't measure up or if they could pick up heisman canidate and co teammate Reggie Bush. Reggie Bush would allow for a different kind of back than the pack currently have and with the injuries to Ahman green a nice addition of a player that could make a immediate impact on the team. having bush would help develop Aaron Rogers as a quarterback. And alot of teams fail to develop their young quarterbacks before its too late.

Black friday. Black friday has finally passed by and my first job working at a retail store during this time was a pretty good one. Working at bestbuy so alot of people were lined up for the door buster sales. Of course everything good sold out fast , but people still came to buy stuff so they did. I work in the computer section and I believe that some people rushed into buying alot of things they didn't need. This enabled me to help sell them plenty of accessories that they otherwise wouldn't have thought twice about buying any other time of the year. And theres these late people who come in at around 11 pm and expect the door buster sales are astill there and have to ask us if we still have them. we sold out on alot of our laptops and even our desktops. Alot of people during these times are spending with imaginary money , and bestbuy thanks them for that , because their credit card was used so much on friday. Good thing is if they manage their payments then it is as good as cash. But the fact is 75 percent of the people default and have to pay the interest on the rest of the payments. Well thats my holiday rant.

The buccaneers lost to the carolina panthers yesterday. The buccaneers made Chris sims look terrible with that offensive line dominated by Mike Rucker and Julius Peppers. Peppers literally and Kenyatta Walker shaking in his boots causing 3 consective false starts killing a drive and any momenteum they needed. The defense this time got lit up by Jake Delhomme and Steve Smith. Hard nose running by Stephen Davis and DeShaun Foster really tore into the bucs interior defensemen. But the Carolina Panthers are surging in the NFC and will probably go on to win the division barring any injuries. As for the bucs Chris Simms is too slow in the pocket and should maybe consider switching roles with Tim Rattay for a bit , Tim shows a bit more poise and experience and maybe more atheletic.

More sports updates. How did the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lose to the San Fransico 49ers? Don't ask me because I have no idea. Once again proving the Bucs are overrated because with Griese gone Simms will have a very hard time moving the offense . I feel bad for hte defense because they pitched a lights out performance only allowing 5 field goals. But im sure the bucs defense will end up carrying them through the playoffs and maybe to the superbowl. Mainly because the Philadelphia Eagles are terrible this year. They got manhandled by the Broncos ,(which to their credit are tearing teams up) in a 49 to 21 whupping. Packers are oh so bad. I'm a huge packer fan and it pains to see Brett Favre trying so hard to win and ending up losing it for them because theres nobody for him to throw to. Eli is here and here to dominant. Brunnell is once again old and Bledsoe is still hot right now. Oh and somebody call Champ Bailey and tell them where TO is because TO made him look silly. Mad props for TO on that juke of the year. Man the packers could still win the nfc north .....that is sad but the Bears are playing pretty good this year. Well thats all I could come up with right now. More next week.

The Chicago White Sox go up 2 games to none in the World Series this week. Its a shame too because of the strong pitching of Any Petitte in game 2. I don't know whats going on with the once dominant Astros bullpen that shut down the cardinals. But Brad Lidge gave up another game winning homerun and maybe his confidence is a little low and shaken up. And the grand slam was ridiculous. The umpiring needs to get a little bit better because clearly that ball didn't hit the players forearm. I don't know why logic escapes baseball , but last time I checked hitting a ball on the side of the forearm doesn't make the ball go straight down and im sure it would leave some sort of a impression on the hitter. I mean goddamn lift his stupid sleeves up and look for a goddamn bruise. Lets not get silly here if a ball hits someone at that speed its gonna leave a mark. But of course they can't do that and replays are a definite no no , so that leaves it up to the umpires to get better at their officiating. Hopefully Houston will sweep the White Sox at home and win the world series. The Greenbay packers are done. With a strong performance by Brett Favre his defense once again lets him down and his offense is completely gone. Down to 2 recievers and third string running back Tony FIsher. Greenbay is done with and hopefully Favre will retire (can't believe ims aying that ) because i don't want his great legacy to come to an end. I'm making a bold prediction but Favre brigns the pack back to 500 but still loses the division and he leads the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns by the end of the year. And be a good ending to a storied career.

Hurricane Wilmer strunk florida last tonight and early morning. Although it wasn't as big as Hurricane Katrina , it still put worries in alot of people in florida. It was a Cat 5 for most of the week, til it lost power all the way to a cat 2 then came back to a cat 3 almost 4. With record low pressure for this time of the year , people were beginning to fear the worse. But thankfully here in lutz all we got was some decent rain and some winds. But lower florida i hope is doing alright. We can be lucky for all the hurricanes that could have hit us and didn't. We prepared all the way for a cat 3 over here, and thankfully we were ok. This gives some attention deserved back to the New Orleans area because they cannot be forgotten so quickly because they still need national help. Lets all hope people in the islands and key west are doing alright.

Gay adoption is a very important subject in the United States. With the publicity of several celebrities adopting children ( illegally mind you) this is gonna be a major subject in politics. Though Rosie O Donnell didn't technically do anythign illegal she adopted i believe 3 children before announcing that she was a lesbian ( wasn't fooling anybody). Now this is very touchy subject because it boils down to how people become gay. Some believe that it is genetic and that environment has very little to do with how a person is sexually. But if studying psychology has taught me anything that it is a combination of both Nature and nurture. But should we put children to the test by allowing gay couples to adopt them. I mean it is hard enough as a child to grow up and figure things out themselves , let alone if they have two dads or two mothers. The psychological problems can be enormous or they can be nothing at all. But whose to show that they have to take this risk. I mean is it any worse of a psychological impact of being in a foster home ? Or is it worse than living with people who are alcholics or single parents? I believe that gay couples won't force their children to be gay but rather force them to be open minded to anything and that they should do what they feel is right and if that is a bad way to look at life then we haven't changed since the early days of time. I wish i had more information to work with on this subject but I haven't done any research yet to come up with some solid ideas for a paper im writing this for.

Koreas talks about nuclear weapons is a scary thought to everybody around the world. They have publically made it clear that they are developing and currently have nuclear weapons at their control. Of course the United Nations and whoever are urging talks to end their nuclear weapons it is feared that these demands if not done correctly can lead to some very frightening outcomes. Spy planes have detected several areas with what looks to be nuclear testing areas and if they are successfully launching nuclear weapons then what makes them uncapable of using them against another country. Though most believe this is just a scare attempt in order to show the rest of the world who they are and that most likely nuclear weapons will not be used. It is important that they follow the rules of the world and listen to the United Nations. Im not really well versed in International diplomacy but whoever is talking with Korea should do it with great respect and watch how things unfold, for the sake of the rest of the world.

The Chicago White Soxs have beaten the Los Angeles Angels 4-1 and have advanced to the World Series for the first time since 1919 ( I believe). With a very incredible 4 Straight Complete games delivered by their strong pitching rotation. Jose Contreras probably the best pitcher since the All Star break dominated yesterday. Since the last 4 games they did not need to use their bullpen the Chicago White Sox are a early favorite to beat whoever they face. But if the Houston Astros can wrap up the NCLS by beating The Cardinals tonight then they will probably be the heavy favorites because of their big three plus Brad Lidge closing the games out. The Astros send Andy Petitte to the mound against Cy Young canidate Chris Carpenter and hopefully won't exhaust their bullpen and beat the Cardinals. THis would give time for the Astros to set up their rotation the way they want to and this would be heavy favorable to them if they want to beat the Chicago White Sox who are playing lights out in the playoffs. This shows a prime example of how pitching wins games in the playoffs not hitting. The two leading offenses for each division are all sitting at home watching great pitching in action and I believe this will come down to who can deliver the timing hits when needed because with the pitchers out there now there is gonna be a shortage of run opportunities. Go Astros!!

The deadly earthquake struck South Asia on Saturday killing more than 20,000 people. THis year has been the year of natural disasters. Nobody knows why this year has yielded several huge earthquakes and several deadly hurricanes , but its becoming a all too familiar sight of devastation in areas not prepared for these disasters. Now an 7.6 earthquake is impossible to prepare for in the United States let alone South Asia , but we should be better at coming to the aid of people in the time of their need. Because if we can be ready to go attack Iraq then we should be able to help out the victims of New Orleans alot quicker. New Orleans should be looking into why they weren't prepared for a level 5 hurricane because they were only prepared for a measingly level 3. And somebody cut the corners to save money and thats one of the reasons the flooding is so bad in New Orleans. But that is understandable somewhat, but not being able to get food and water there quicker than a few days is ridiculous. But the new crisis in South Asia shows some promise. The United states is giving large amounts of money to help them and sending some of our military helicopters used to find al quaida over there to quickly help assess the situation. But if this year as taught us anything is that we all might need the help of somebody else and with the way the world is going now the next earthquake or hurricane could be right around the corner.

Finally! Greenbay is victorious!
Well it took 5 games but the Packers are finally victorious this season. Yeah its really disappointing it took this long especially because they could have jumped to an early NFC north lead with the disappointing Vikings record and Lions not living up to the preseason hype. But the way it stands they could easily win the division with a .500 record so the Pack may still be in the playoff hunt. Now with all the injuries on the offense they managed to spank the New Orlean Saints 52-3. NOw I don't know if they are making up for the previous games but thats one major butt kicking. And disappointingly Najeh Davenport broke his ankle , but hopefully Ahman Green can carry the remainder of the snaps this season. Are the Pack back? Or are the New Orleans Saints really that bad? I say offensively they may be back on track building upon last games explosive fourth quarter. Defensively we did very good not giving up a touchdown and having 5 takeaways. Brett managed to avoid throwing an interception and with all that its easy to see how they won. Now bring on Minnesota (I believe they play next) because Packers are going for a 2 game win streak.

Fitness and Your Brain
by: Steven K. Feske, M.D
Steven K. Feske's article on fitness related to your brain centers on the idea that some people believe that whats the point of exercising to live longer and then have dementia when you could live hard now , eat all you want , enjoy yourself now and die young. This is just plain ridiculous statement. In actuality exercising will lower your chances of having dementia and alzheimer's disease dramatically. First off exercising lowers the risk of repeated minor strokes that lead to dementia. By circulating the blood throughout your body you lower the risk of clots that could block the arteries feeding your brain ( stroke). Diet and exercise can also help ward off high blood pressure ,a risk factor both for atherosclerosis and for a special kind of stroke that a weakened cerebral artery bursts to cause a brain hemorrage. For some people to believe that it is not worth it to exercise and live healthy is a reason why they are probably at risk for many health factors. Exercising and eating healthy greens , fruits , and fiber rich foods will also reduce the risk of dementia. This should be common knowledge to everybody that eating right and exercising lets you live a healthy , enjoyable life longer , than just "living the moment" and eating high saturated fat foods and sitting around and watching tv period. But unfornately statistics show that the U.S is in desperate need of a diet.

For those who do not know , the U.S is having a dispute right now with the Iran government over the use of nuclear power. For a little background the Iran government began his nuclear program recently. And the U.S argues that they could be used to make weapons of mass destruction. Of course the Iran government says that it is looking toward the future by generating more electricity and nothing produces more than nuclear energy. The U.S sent a clear message aimed at Russia called for the governments involved in the nuclear program to freeze those projects immediately. The United states and the European Union have prepared the ground for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to send Iran to the United Nations Security Council next month for possible sanctions for violating international nuclear rules. The Iran government was outraged byt his and has threatened on Monday to use its "Full Might" to endanger US interests if Washington upped the pressure on Tehran over its disputed nuclear programme. This is recent news and until the UN security council meets with the Iran government , the U.S does not know for certain which directiont his might take. Hopefully Iran's intentions are true for using the nuclear programme for future energy sources and not for terrorists acts. But the troubling responses by several Iran officials shows some hostility towards the United States.(Khaleej Times Online)
